Mario Mengali's grandparents, Giorgio and Albina Mengali, bought their ranch on Wine Creek Rd in the 1940's and were farming Prunes and Grapes from the very beginning. Giorgio also repaired other local farmers equipment during this time. Giuseppe (Joe) Mengali, Mario's father carried on the farming and equipment business and started sharecropping with other landowners (now called vineyard management). In 1974 Joe purchased his first tractor for vineyard development and continued to grow the business, including bringing in the first Deep Plow in 1997.

Mario began working in the fields in 1987 at a very young age with his family. Mengali Plowing, now owned and operatred by Mario as a 3rd generation Sonoma County Farmer, he took over the business in 1998. Two years later he added his second Deep Plow. Having plowed thousands of acres in Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake and Napa Counties you can count on Marios knowledge and expertise to profile your ground for healthy crops quickly and accurately.

Why is the Deep Plow so important?

The Carriage Deep Plow is unsurpassed in root removal, removing more of the root from the ground than any other method of ground preparation including, but not limited to, three-way ripping, slip plowing and wing tip ripping. Removing roots from the soil helps prevents disease in new development and reduces or eliminates the need for fumigation. An alternative method to fumigation through thorough deep plowing.
